The BMW 8 Series Is Back

The BMW 8 Series was BMW's flagship car in the 1990s. Visually spectacular and powered by a muscular V12 engine, the BMW 8 Series found itself on posters in young men’s bedrooms. It was THE BMW at the time and although several models have been created since then, we haven’t had the opportunity to crown a real successor to the BMW 8 Series. All this could change very soon.

A Spectacular BMW 8 Series Concept Presented in Geneva

At the last Geneva International Motor Show in March, BMW presented a concept that didn’t fail to turn heads. Absolutely spectacular at every level, the 8 Series concept has been a hit.

While it’s only a concept, it’s likely that BMW will eventually produce the BMW 8 Series. The German manufacturer has already announced an engine for the model. It would be a 4.4-litre V8 producing 592 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, which is the same power that can be found in the BMW M8. BMW also announced that xDrive all-wheel drive would be offered as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission.
